Starting up

Time Out Therapy was started as a small family business by Maggie in November 2020.  The aim was to provide Reiki services for private clients in the therapy room.  Due to coronavirus restrictions we could not do close contact sessions.  So we turned to selling online gifts and wee mindings.  

We also produced Facebook relaxation sessions.

Over the lockdown period we worked on pendants, posters, gift cards and other lovely items.  Our production and packing line including octogenarian parents!


We were so excited to be set free once the restrictions lifted and were very keen to begin our Reiki services again ! 

Time Out Therapy is in the business of healing through relaxation.  For us, healing means enabling a sense of peace and relaxation in mind, body and spirit, helping to soothe the strains and stresses of life. 

 It is a gentle and uncomplicated process of letting go.

Sadly, as of end of August and start of September Maggie has been affected by coronavirus.  This has greatly impacted on Reiki practice.  As a result we are currently totally focused on non contact design work.  Please check out our gallery and our Facebook.

Why should I give Reiki a try?

Maggie received a wonderful Reiki session in 2020 and this helped her to make up her mind to become a Reiki Practitioner. In addition, Maggie's personal experience of previously receiving Reiki and other relaxation therapies  helped her with mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. Now Maggie hopes to help you.

Some of my clients have never experienced Reiki before and they have been delighted with the results.

Also quite relieved to discover how simple and soothing a relaxation session can be.

You don't need to do anything in preparation.

Reiki is not physically demanding for you (other than getting on the therapy bed). Just lie back and feel comforted.

Trained Practitioner?

Maggie is a trained and certified Reiki Practitioner working from home in a calm and restful therapy room. She also does workplace and group sessions.

As a trained Reiki Practitioner Maggie is a member of the UK Reiki Federation and abides by their Code of Ethics.

Reiki uses hands-on-body healing, placing hands lightly on and over your body to help with relaxation and healing. This helps you feel balanced again.  As we work on the key points on your body, called Chakras, we heal and mend the imbalances.

Reiki combines the Japanese and Chinese word-characters of "rei" (spiritual) and "ki" (vital energy).

Reiki is based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the client by touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the body and help restore physical, mental and emotional well-being.

The practice of Reiki was developed by Mikao Usui in Japan early in the 20th century. As a practitioner Maggie has a lineage to Usui through her Reiki Teacher and her Teacher and so on.


Reiki and relaxation therapy can feel like you are in the best of company.  Helping you to enjoy the comfort of touch, the healing power of kindness.

The opportunity to be still and calm can help channel a more positive outlook.  This may help you feel more calm when dealing with relationships at home, at work or at study.

We encourage you to take time out to relax, to help you cope better with changes and stressors.  


Do you spend more time worrying about things and less time doing something about it?  We can get so stressed that we don't remember important things like breathing!  Then panic attaches kick in.  The things that stress us out are stressors.  Stressors are threatening situations, your wellbeing feels under attack.  And of course you respond by getting stressed.  Try Reiki to help resolve the stress and restore your wellbeing.  Many of us look after our body's wellbeing.  We boost our immune systems with vitamins and tonics.  We understand the importance of eating the right foods for our own bodies.

During reiki sessions we are nourishing our wellbeing, mind, body and soul.  Helping you to feel so much better overall.
