We are delighted to say that we are open

for business as usual!

Client coronavirus information and agreement

Time Out Therapy provides hands on Reiki and other relaxation therapy, this is a close contact service. Close contact services are listed under the “retail sector” guidance in Scotland. Time Out Therapy has looked closely at the guidance and translated this into actions and information. The Scottish Government guidance does not amount to legal advice however Time Out Therapy takes every update very seriously as if it were a legal requirement.

If you come to the Therapy Room for a session we will ask you to read about us and COVID-19 in advance. We have a small agreement form for you to sign and date which says you will agree to assist us in our endeavours to stay safe.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 18th MARCH 2021

Dear Friends of Time Out Therapy

We have been keeping an eager eye on the COVID-19 news. For Time Out Therapy the Scottish Government rules apply.

We have read the latest update from the Scottish Government about the strategy and the timetable for easing restrictions. This has helped us to understand the Scottish Government plan to lift the current coronavirus restrictions over the coming weeks and months. We decided to write to you with our hopes and plans for the days to come, this is a long letter but please bear with us and we would really appreciate it if you could read all the way through.

The Scottish Government say

“While we will probably have to learn to live with coronavirus in the longer term, we can now see a clearer way to eliminating it as a serious threat to public health in Scotland.

For now, the virus still presents a serious danger to life and health. So, please stick with it – the more we abide by the rules and look after each other and the more of us who are vaccinated, the more we can open up the economy and society, suppressing the virus to very low levels while returning as much normality as possible.”

Folks, I know that we can all work together and look after one another. There is still a fine balance between easing restrictions and keeping the virus at bay. Brilliant news is that more and more of us have had our first injection. Ger had hers and I am having the first injection on Saturday 20th March. With a 3-to-12-week period in between, I hope to have received the second injection by mid-June at latest.

NHS Guidance tells us that the first dose should give good protection from coronavirus and after receiving the second dose we will have longer lasting protection. Similar to the Scottish Government update, the NHS are also warning that there is a chance you might still get or spread coronavirus even if you have the vaccine.

Overall, this means that as a close contact business, Time Out Therapy must continue to work towards safe practice and remain vigilant. Our eagerness to have clients return to our therapy room must be balanced against a sensible and cautious approach strictly in line with Scottish Government guidelines. As a qualified Reiki Practitioner and member of the UK Reiki Federation (UKRF) Maggie is also kept up to date by the UKRF for best practice and recommendations.

So, folks, what is the reality about restarting hands on therapy? Fingers, toes and paws crossed that the planned phasing works well in Scotland and 2nd April sees the lifting of the ‘Stay at Home’ * requirement, replacing it with a ‘Stay Local’ message. We still have to apply our local authority-based travel restrictions for at least a three-week period.

*The Scottish Government COVID-19 local protection levels update of 17 March 2021 tells us that guidance is currently under review. The information for 'Stay at home' and 'Level 3' still applies, but all other levels are under review.

Joy of joys if all goes well there will be more changes as of 5th April. The Scottish Government plans to ease a wider range of current restrictions in level 4 areas (the Stay-at-Home areas) and this includes allowing hairdressers and other close contact services to recommence business as long as they are not mobile (i.e., going into people’s homes). Time Out Therapy is hopeful that this means we can start taking bookings from folks in our local area. We understand that some of you may not want to come to us until you are very sure about COVID-19 safety. With great respect to individual choice and decision making we look forward to seeing you when you are ready.

The next milestone for the Scottish Government is 26th April when they plan to have offered the vaccine to priority vaccine groups 1-9. If results and strategy go well, Scotland can further reopen from 26th April. After months and months of restrictions it feels like we are actually getting somewhere. At that point we will all be able to travel within Scotland without restriction, hopefully! This is great news for Time Out Therapy because folks from further afield can book appointments with us. Also, Maggie can do workplace therapy sessions. Understandably the Scottish Government will be keeping a close eye on in-home socialising and we have to wait for their review about this. However, again fingers, toes and paws crossed, Time Out Therapy hopes and prays that we can soon offer other options to clients. For example, group social sessions for trying out therapy and healing (like taster sessions).

17th May is another very important date for Scotland with the possibility of further easing of restrictions dependent upon the success of the Government strategy so far. As the summer months arrive and we progress into June we are on course for Scotland to move back to Level 1. Happy dance all round as this means further relaxation across the country. By the end of June, we are secretly hoping that we reach Level 0!

Thanks for bearing with us and reading our letter. Time Out Therapy hopes it will help you to make your own decision about coming to us for therapy and for booking us into your workplace. In the meantime, Maggie is clearing the Therapy space and getting everything safe and ready for the return of our clients. We can’t wait X

All our best wishes

Blessings from Time Out Therapy
